Oya Come Make We Go
16th September 2016

What an amazing day it is, its funny how I happened to find out about this beautiful holiday celebrated by our Muslim brothers and sisters. I knew EidUlAdha exists but wasn’t expecting it this soon. That moment when everybody is talking about a holiday and planning for it and you are so clueless 🙁  sigh. I would love to tell you about it read more here

The day has been awesome the fact that it fell on a Monday, long beautiful weekend this has been. Seeing family, friends, and loved ones comes with a feeling no one can explain.

I love cooking so I woke up early just to cook my favorite Swahili dish pilau for my people. Merry days happen to be lucky, the sun never fails to stay out.

My neighborhood is populated with people from Somalia, which means more time spent in the kitchen helping in preparing more meals for other families, sharing is a major practice to them, and I stole this habit from my mama and they affirmed it!

As the sun goes down, I wouldn’t like the day to go by without briefly sharing my experience with you. How did you spend yours? feel free to share with me in the comment box.

Happy EidUlAdha with love.
