Do you remember your first time? It could be in school, at work in a different city or even country.
Everyone has a hilarious story on how their first time visiting a place or doing something was. From touching irrelevant stuff to asking every other question that crosses their mind to staring at everyone 😉 😉 who does that?
This wasn’t my first time onset but I must admit it was the very first time working for Spielworks Media. One of the leading Kenyan-based Tv and digital media production company that produces award-winning shows like Sumu La Penzi, Higher Learning, Lies That Bind, Jane & Abel just to name a few. Enjoying entertaining and good quality content from them, then later being part of the team making one is amazing and a great honor, totally humbled. The experience is incredible.
Meeting long-term friends, and fellow actors with who you only get to interact online is the order of the day.

Beautiful people
The chemistry between cast and crew gives the newbies like me an easy time on set. They are the best people I’ve met. Working with the Crème de la crème of Uganda’s directors, Heddwyn Kyambadde. Warembo, Gereji Matata, and Urembo are among the shows produced by Spielworks Media, which he has directed. His style of directing got me asking how he does it during one of the breaks. “I make sure everyone understands and values their input on a project,” says Heddwyn Kyambadde. This is one man who has taught me the techniques of staying calm and patient on a film set.

Filming a brand new season of Jane & Abel produced by Spielworks Media. Playing the role of a journalist at Simba Media Group. This role got me excited it took me back in time when I was recording my Voice Demos as a journalist, listen up.

When you are waiting for your next scene and a magazine grabs your attention by the neck.
In every industry, not everyone is willing to your hand giving guidelines and tips on how things roll. The film industry is not an exception. I must say how blessed and privileged I am to have the people I look up to around me especially working with them on the same set. The amount of skills and expertise they inject into me is literally breathtaking.
- Isaya Evans whose acting profile fills a 220 paged A4 book 😉 He acted on Sumu La Penzi, Siri, Urembo, Jane & Abel all of Spielworks Media productions several TV Commercials not forgetting Kidnapped and The Bachelor just to mention a few movies he has directed, when not doing all this he is a casting director. The Rider a  short film he directed is my all time. In between his scenes, Isaya will give me insights on how to bring out different emotions by making me watch him in action. He has always made sure I have lines way before we are ready to roll. In Jane & Abel, he plays the role of a Journalist.
- Gerald Langiri is one actor you mention and everyone has something positive to say. There is this one morning I walked on the Jane & Abel set, then bumped into this phenomenal soul. I forgot I was to have breakfast. We kept talking… and talking… and talking… allow me to say for years! Gerald is an AMVCA nominee and holds a Kalasha and an AFDA award just to mention a few. He is well known for the movies House Of Lungula and Fundamentals produced by Historia Films he has been featured in several Tv series that are shown on our local Tv stations. His performance in the short film First Anniversary is my all time. Gerald has an extra eye that sees my weakest areas and he is never shy to scold me about each and every one of them. He guides and leads me to paths I’ve never dared to walk. Every conversation we have ends up being a lesson to me. In Jane & Abel, he plays the role of a lawyer.

Getting an opportunity to work on any set comes with a great feeling. Just like when the morning sun hits your skin. This particular set has skilled actors that make me learn by observing their work.

When the sun is beautiful, consume it.
Thankful to everyone involved in this.
