It’s Monday morning and as I roll up my yoga mat, to return it back to its divine bag 😉, I reminisce about Nafsi Premiere.
“The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear.” ~ Daniel Defoe
Nafsi (Swahili word for Soul) is a Reuben Odanga film that premiered on Saturday 6th November 2021, at Anga cinema in Kenya’s Capital.
I took an Evening Walk to go watch the film that takes us through the life of two besties, Aisha (Mumbi Maina) and Shiku (Catherine Kamau). A story of love, hate, trust, betrayal, hope, despair, forgiveness, mercilessness… orchestrated by Multaproductions brought to life by Aisha, Shiku, Sebastian (Alfred Munyua), Mercy (Monique Angelyn Bett), Biko (Alex Khayo), Angie (Silayio Kirisuah), Clarence (Alex Mwakideu), Athumani (Raymond Ofula) among many accomplished actors.
The film serves as a polite reminder for us to look in the mirror, deal with whatever reflection we see, practice self-compassion, and be compassionate towards others while at it. The steamy effect of the poster and the multiple times I got goosebumps in that cinema hall is the one reason I’d urge you to go watch it and experience the deep multiple emotions evoked by Nafsi storytellers. The Nairobi cinema schedule is out! If you’re not in Nairobi, follow MultanProductions to look out for upcoming schedules for different counties.
Well done Multan Productions!
The journey #EveningWalkWithEuniceAyuma continues, see you on the next one 🤗
